At a significant turning point in her life, Anne Marie left the comforts of home, family and a successful career in Canada, to deal with the grief of losing a son and “give back” in Africa.  This is the story of what she got back ten-fold.  Not only an undying love for Africa and the African people, but a glimpse at many of the other people, of all ages, who did the same thing.  The contributions they made, often in jobs where they had no prior experience, were enormous.

Just Call Me Alice! is the touching, exhilarating, shocking story of her adventures in Africa.  With heartwarming and sometimes hilarious detail, Anne Marie shares with us her experience in a exotic foreign environment, full of fascinating characters; wonderful people who took her into their homes and hearts.

Just call Me Alice!  is also a commentary on how, often blatantly, our Development Aid dollars are squandered by various organizations, and the negative effects, as a result, on the plight of the indigenous people.
